2 January 2013 – 5 hrs 45 min Following the Texas Marathon on 1 January came the 197 miles (317km) drive from Houston to San Antonio, Texas for the I Ran Marathons Winter Festival. I am very fortunate to be staying with champion New Zealand marathon runner Liza Hunter-Galvan whilst in San Antonio.

1 January 2013 – 4 hrs 27 min Following several days of cold wet weather in Houston to end 2012, the first morning of 2013 would prove to be more of the same. Undaunted we gathered for the Texas Marathon – the first event of the Marathon Man 2013 World Record attempt.
