3 January 2013 – 5 hrs 31 min
The course for today was the same as yesterday – eight 3.28 mile out & back laps on bike tracks in the Leon Creek Greenway parklands that are located in West San Antonio, Texas.
The bike path is about 2 metres wide, and made from a mixture of concrete and asphalt sections. There are a number of social runners and cyclists passing by regularly throughout the event.
I started at a steady pace and improved as the kilometres ticked by. Luckily I made the decision to dress warmly this morning with gloves and beanie proving vital with sleet and snow falling during the race.
The drink station today offered Coke and Peanut M&M’s which made a nice change from the diet of GU’s, water and sports drinks on the first two days.
I am now at the half way stage of the first week, and looking forward to taking on marathon number four tomorrow.
